This is the 8th edition of Maarten Memorial a charity event. The 166 pictures i took were at location Ahoy Rotterdam and Circuit Zandvoort.

About Maarten Memorial
On August 4, 2003, Maarten van Sten aged 27 died of the consequences of aggressive melanoma cancer.

Maarten was passionate about sports cars. He wanted to share his passion with everyone. In his name we bring together exclusive dream cars to battle cancer in an annual event: the MaartenMemorial. Afterall, you are dead only when you are forgotten. The 8th MaartenMemorial took place on August 4, 2011.

The main objective: make cancer patients forget their illness for a day. How? By inviting them to drive along from Rotterdam to Zandvoort in one of a hunderd spectacular sports cars. In Zandvoort they will spend two hours on the Dutch national race course for a couple of fast laps. Additionally, they raised funds for the Maarten van Sten laboratory, conducting cancer research at the Erasmus Medical Center Daniel den Hoed Clinic in Rotterdam. The previous seven MaartenMemorials already raised over € 770,000.

About the organisation
The MaartenMemorial was organised by Maarten's friends and a growing army of fantastic volunteers and faithful partners. They work on a zero euro budget, so you can be sure that every euro donated will truly end up where it is most needed: in the Maarten van Sten laboratory.
